As a result of the work that "Animales S.O.S." has carried out, our institution has been invited to the 1º International Animal Wellfare Congres that took place in Sao Pablo – Brasil (on October 1998) organized by ARCA Brasil, also to the Expo Care ’99 that took place in Orlando,Florida (on February 1999) and to the Expo Care 2000 that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada (on February 2000) organized by the Humane Society International and to the II Congreso Neotropical sobre Rescate de Fauna that took place in Costa Rica (on July 1999).

At these conferences we have seen the different animal protection laws that other countries have, their institution's organization, different animal care procedures, their shelter and how their specialized police forces wor

"Animales S.O.S." is currently undergoing a process of expansion, opening new branches in other Bolivian cities: El Alto, Oruro, Potosi and Sucre. All four cities addede up have a feline and canine population of over 700,000 animals. Now, our requeriments are basic:

• A central office: This is a basic institutional requirement, that has so far been substituted by using a private home.
• The grant of two lots of land in different parts of La Paz: To be able to build two fully equipped shelters.
• One van and two motorcycles: To be able to get to the emergency cases as fast as possible and help the animals adequately.
• Establish the sterilization project in La Paz and El Alto. (later on in the whole country).
• Two veterinary clinics: To help the pets of people with low income. (long term goal)
• The establishment of a wildlife sanctuary in the tropical region of Yungas, La Paz: To be able to rehabilitate the wild animals that have been torn away from their orginal habitat.(long term goal).
